Frankie Gallegos Injured in Truck Accident in Midland County, TX

UPDATE (November 27, 2023): The motorcyclist in the accident has been identified as 27-year-old Frankie Gallegos. No additional information has yet been confirmed.

Midland County, TX — October 9, 2023, a motorcyclist was injured in a truck accident just before 3:30 in the afternoon along Interstate Highway 20.

According to reports, a 27-year-old man was traveling on a westbound motorcycle in the left-hand lane of I.H. 20 just west of C.R. 1260 when the accident occurred.

Allegedly, the motorcyclist was trying to pass a westbound 18-wheeler when the big rig initiated an unsafe lane change. The motorcycle swerved left in order to avoid a collision with the 18-wheeler, going off of the roadway and flipping several times before skidding to a stop on one side after colliding with a cable barrier. For unknown reasons, the 18-wheeler failed to stop after the accident. The motorcyclist—whose identity has not yet been confirmed—incurred severe injuries as a result of the accident; he was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive treatment.

The accident is still under investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time of the incident were reportedly clear and dry. No additional information is currently available.
