Juan Rodriguez Calzada Killed, 1 Injured in Car Accident in Gregg County, TX

Gregg County, TX — October 22, 2023, Juan Rodriguez Calzada was killed and one person was injured after a car accident at around 7:00 p.m. along Kennedy Avenue.

According to details released by the authorities, the crash took place at the intersection of Kennedy Avenue (F.M. 2906) and Victorian Oak (County Road 2813).

Investigators said in their statements that 46-year-old Juan Rodriguez Calzada was in a Nissan Rogue which was going westbound on Kennedy. At Victorian Oaks, authorities say that an oncoming GMC Terrain failed to yield while making a left turn, and the vehicles collided.

It appears Rodriguez Calzada died as a result of the collision while the other driver sustained injuries described as incapacitating. At this time, additional details about the crash are unconfirmed. It appears authorities ordered blood specimen from the drivers, but they have not said publicly if they found any intoxicants involved in the accident.
