1 Injured in Truck Accident on S.R. 40 in Ocala, FL

Ocala, FL — November 14, 2023, one person was injured in a truck accident at around 11 o'clock in the morning along State Route 40.

According to reports, a man was traveling in a westbound Chrysler Town and Country on State Route 40 in the vicinity of 172nd Terrace when the accident occurred.

For unknown reasons, the minivan veered left out of the westbound lane and into the the eastbound lane where it collided with an oncoming 18-wheeler with a trailer in tow. The collision caused the 18-wheeler to veer right off of the roadway and into a roadside ditch. The man in the minivan—whose identity has not been made public—reportedly had to be extricated from the wreckage before he could be transported to a local hospital by emergency medical services in order to receive treatment for critical injuries. No other injuries were reported in connection with this incident.

The causal factors of the accident are still under active investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time were not specifically reported on, but photographs taken at the scene depict what appear to be rainy and wet conditions.
