1 Injured in Truck Accident on New Castle Avenue in Wilmington, DE

Wilmington, DE — November 15, 2023, at least one person was injured in a truck accident at around 8:30 in the morning along New Castle Avenue.

According to authorities, the accident occurred at the intersection of New Castle Avenue and Rogers Road.

Allegedly, a passenger vehicle rear-ended an 18-wheeler, resulting in the occupant(s) being trapped inside. Emergency workers worked to free them upon their arrival to the scene of the accident. There was a medical helicopter on-site in case it became necessary to fly the victim to a medical facility, but once the victim(s) was freed from the wreckage, it was decided they would be transported by ambulance. It is not known at this point in time whether or not there were any other injuries as a result of this accident.

The cause of the accident is unknown; it is under active investigation by local authorities. There are not currently any additional details available pertaining to this incident.
