Kaleb Braaten, Chanerica Nelson, Alexia Williams, 2 Minors Injured in Car Accident in Gregg County, TX
UPDATE (November 28, 2023): The identities of those involved in this crash have been released. The 32-year-old man in the Silverado was Kaleb Braaten; the 27-year-old woman in the Elantra was Chanerica Nelson; the 22-year-old woman in the Elantra was Alexia Williams. The names of the minors injured in this accident will not here be made public.
Gregg County, TX — October 31, 2023, five people were injured in a car accident just after eight o'clock in the morning along U.S. 259.
According to reports, Hyundai Elantra was traveling north along Farm to Market 2751 approaching the U.S. 259 intersection when the incident occurred.

For reasons yet to be confirmed, the Elantra veered into the southbound lane in order to pass cars in the northbound lane which were at a stop awaiting a green light indication at the intersection. The Elantra proceeded to enter the intersection, colliding with a southeast bound Chevy Silverado as a result of disregarding the red light. The sole occupant in the Silverado—a 32-year-old man—sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident, as did the 22-year-old and 27-year-old women in the Elantra. A 7-year-old girl and a one-year-old girl in the Elantra were also injured. All five were transported to local medical facilities by emergency medical services for treatment.
The cause of the accident is under active investigation by the local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time of the accident were reportedly clear and dry. None of the identities of those involved in this accident have yet been made public. No additional information is currently available pertaining to this incident.
