1 Killed in Truck Accident on S.H. 29 in Elk Mound, WI

Elk Mound, WI — November 13, 2023, one person was killed in a truck accident around 8:30 in the evening along State Highway 29.

According to reports, a 70-year-old woman whose identity has yet to be released to the public was traveling in a westbound pickup truck along S.H. 29 at the 970th street intersection when the accident occurred.

The pickup was allegedly attempting to make a left turn from the highway onto southbound 970th street when the pickup was struck by an eastbound 18-wheeler. Both the 18-wheeler and the pickup truck left the roadway and continued down and embankment where they collided with a grove of trees before coming to a stop. The woman sustained fatal injuries as a result of the accident, having been declared deceased at the scene of the accident. There were no other injuries reported in connection with this incident.

The causal factors of the accident are still under investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time of the incident were not reported on. There are not currently any additional details available.
