Sarah Moreno, Alonzo Morning Killed, Naomi McCartney Injured in Car Accident in San Marcos, TX

San Marcos, TX — July 6, 2023, Sarah Moreno and Alonzo Morning were killed and Naomi McCartney was hurt in a car accident at around 8:00 p.m. on Highway 80.

Officials said in their preliminary statements that the accident happened at the intersection of Highway 80 and River Road.

According to officials, 20-year-old Sarah Moreno and 27-year-old Alonzo Morning were on a Yamaha motorcycle going northwest along the highway. At the River Road intersection, it appears that a Ford Expedition may have failed to yield making a left turn, causing the motorcycle and the Ford to collide. After this, the Ford then hit a Toyota Corolla stopped along River Road in which Naomi Ruth McCartney was a passenger.

Due to the collision, both Moreno and Morning sustained fatal injuries. McCartney's injuries were described as non-incapacitating. The conditions of others involved in the crash were not confirmed. Right now, additional details about the accident are unavailable.
