1 Killed, Amanda Bolka, 1 Injured in Truck Accident in LaPorte County, TX

LaPorte County, TX — November 12, 2023, one person was killed, and Amanda Bolka and one other person were injured in a truck accident just before 11:15 a.m. along U.S. 421.

According to authorities, a 34-year-old Amanda Bolka was traveling in a northbound Jeep on U.S. 421 near I-80 when the accident occurred.

For unknown reasons, the Jeep collided with a southbound 18-wheeler. The collision caused the 18-wheeler to crash head-on into a northbound Buick SUV. The occupant of the Buick sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the accident and was transported to a hospital by EMS for immediate care where they were later declared deceased due to their injuries. A passenger in the Buick as well as Amanda Bolka also sustained injuries and were taken to a medical facility for care.

The causal factors of the accident are still under investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time of the accident were not reported on. There are no additional details currently available pertaining to this incident.
