Officials said that 33-year-old Lidia Funes, 33-year-old Nora Figueroa, and two minors were in a Chevy Silverado going northbound leaving an apartment complex. Doing so, authorities say an eastbound Chrysler allegedly driving over twice the 40 MPH speed limit. That vehicle crashed into the left side of the Silverado.

As a result of the collision, a 13-year-old girl in the Silverado sustained fatal injuries. Funes, Figueroa, and a 2-year-old were in unspecified conditions. There isn't a public statement right now on whether or not authorities are considering charges. Considering how much time has passed since this tragedy occurred, I can only hope they've been more thorough working with the victim's loved ones behind the scene rather than leaving such a serious accident as incomplete as current statements seem to be.
