Russell Stanley Douglas Injured in Car Accident in Cass County, TX

Cass County, TX — October 19, 2023, Russell Stanley Douglas was injured in a car accident at approximately 6:30 p.m. along F.M. 96.

Authorities report that 31-year-old Russell Stanley Douglas was traveling in a southbound Hyundai Elantra approaching the Farm to Market 2791 intersection when the accident occurred.

For reasons yet to be confirmed, the Elantra failed to maintain its lane along the curve in the road. It veered across the northbound lane and partially off of the road, striking a mailbox and a road sign before veering back to the left, continuing across the F.M. 2791 intersection before striking a curb and overturning. It finally came to a stop on its passengers side facing north in a concrete bar ditch. Douglas reportedly incurred severe injuries as a result of the incident. He was transported to a local medical facility by EMS for immediate treatment.

The cause of the accident has not been confirmed; it is still under investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time of the accident were reportedly clear and dry. No additional information is currently available pertaining to this accident.
