Jennifer Holdt, 2 Injured in Car Accident in Lorena, TX

Lorena, TX — October 19, 2023, Jennifer Holdt and two other people were injured in a car accident at about 10:20 p.m. along I.H. 35.

According to authorities, a Kia Sorento transporting Jennifer Holdt and a 10-year-old child was northbound in the center lane of I.H. 35 behind an Infinity just north of the Callan Ranch Road bridge when the accident occurred.

The Infinity changed over to the right-most lane and slowed before swerving back into the center lane for unknown reasons. The front end of the Kia collided with the driver's side of the Infinity as a result. The collision caused the Kia to spin 180 degrees before colliding with the wall of the median. It continued to spin, coming to a stop facing north in the center lane of the highway. The Infinity continued to veer left, also striking the wall of the center median where it came to a stop in the left shoulder. 43-year-old Holdt and her 10-year-old passenger in the Kia both sustained injuries; Holdt's injuries were reportedly severe. The 39-year-old man in the Infinity also sustained injuries. All three were taken to local medical facilities for treatment.

The cause of the accident has not been confirmed, but it is still under active investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time of the accident were reportedly clear and dry. No additional details are currently available.
