Juana Sandoval Perez Injured in Truck Accident in Gainesville, TX

UPDATE (November 15, 2023): The identity of the injured victim in this accident has been confirmed as 64-year-old Juana Sandoval Perez.

Gainesville, TX — October 19, 2023, two people were injured in a truck accident at about 2:50 in the afternoon along Interstate Highway 35.

According to reports, an 18-wheeler was traveling south in the right-hand lane of I.H. 35 just south of C.R. 218 when the accident occurred.

The 18-wheeler went to switch to the left-hand lane after noticing a stalled vehicle in the lane ahead. However, this lane change resulted in a collision with a Chevy Tahoe which had been travelling in the left-hand lane of southbound I-35 beside the trailer being towed by the 18-wheeler. The collision with the 18-wheeler caused the Chevy to veer left and collide with the barricade on the left hand-side of the highway. The crash resulted in severe injuries to a 64-year-old woman who had been in the passenger seat of the Tahoe. She was taken to a local medical facility by emergency medical services for treatment.

The accident is still under investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time of the accident were reportedly clear and dry. No additional information is currently available pertaining to this incident.
