1 Injured in Truck Accident on U.S. 6 in Marshall County, IL

Marshall County, IL — November 13, 2023, one person was injured in a truck accident just after 7:15 in the morning along U.S. 6.

According to reports, a 17-year-old was traveling in a northbound Nissan Rogue on Sycamore approaching the U.S. 6 intersection when the incident occurred.

For unknown reasons, the Nissan neglected to stop at a stop sign, crashing into the left side of an 18-wheeler which had been westbound on U.S. 6 as a result. The collision caused the 18-wheeler to overturn. There was catastrophic damage done to the Nissan. The 17-year-old reportedly had to be extricated from the Nissan before being transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services for treatment of injuries incurred as a result of the accident. No other injuries were reported in connection with this incident.

The accident is under investigation by local authorities. The weather and driving conditions in the area were not reported on. No additional information is available pertaining to this incident.
