Aransas County, TX — October 27, 2023, Chandra Nicole Dixon was killed and two others were injured after a car accident at around 9:25 p.m. along Business 35.

Authorities said in their preliminary statements that the crash happened near the intersection of Business 35 and Gulf Gate Boulevard.

It appears that 30-year-old Chandra Dixon was in a Nissan Altima going northbound along Business 35. Details suggest the vehicle somehow ended up going into southbound lanes where it crashed with an oncoming Mercedes-Benz. Due to the collision, Dixon succumbed to her injuries. Two occupants in the other vehicle had reportedly non-incapacitating injuries.

Right now, the cause of the crash has not been confirmed. Authorities have mentioned they think alcohol was a factor, but they've done little to explain this further. In fact, I don't even see any indication of authorities receiving results from or even ordering a toxicology test. Is this just poor reporting to the public, and they're being more thorough behind the scenes? Or, are the reporting officers jumping to conclusions without actually getting evidence?

There simply isn't enough here to inspire any confidence in me that authorities are giving this crash the attention it deserves. If anyone knows more, I'd welcome any information that could show otherwise.
