Minor Injured in Pedestrian Truck Accident on Hwy. 78 in Farmersville, TX

Farmersville, TX — October 27, 2023, a minor was injured in a pedestrian involved truck accident just after 8:30 p.m. along Highway 78.

According to reports, a 12-year-old girl was attempting to cross Highway 78 from west to east in the crosswalk just north of Gaddy Street when the accident occurred.

For unknown reasons, the girl failed to yield the right of way to motor traffic on the highway. As a result, she made contact with the drivers side of a northbound 18-wheeler. The girl reportedly sustained severe, life-threatening injuries as a result of the accident. She was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services for immediate treatment. Her current condition is not known. No other injuries were reported in connection with this incident.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time of the accident were reportedly rainy an wet. There is no additional information currently available.
