Jose Amaro Killed, 1 Injured in Car Accident in Houston, TX

Harris County, TX — September 25, 2023, Jose Amaro was killed and one person was injured following a car accident at 4:15 a.m. on the North Freeway.

Public statements say that the incident took place along northbound lanes of I-45 in the area of Rogers Street.

According to officials, 46-year-old Jose Amaro and a 37-year-old man were in a Nissan XTerra going along an on-ramp to the interstate. For reasons still unconfirmed, the vehicle apparently hit a median, lost control, and veered into the side barricade where it crashed.

Due to this collision, Amaro sustained fatal injuries. The passenger had injuries which were described as incapacitating. Right now, it's unclear if any other vehicles were involved. Authorities have not provided additional details at this time.
