1 Injured in Truck Accident on U.S. 84 in Mills County, TX

Mills County, TX — October 27, 2023, one person was injured in a truck accident just before 8:30 in the evening along U.S. 84.

According to reports, a 50-year-old man was traveling in a northwest bound 18-wheeler on U.S. 84 just north of S.H. 16 when the accident occurred.

Weather and road conditions in the area at the time of the accident were reportedly rainy and wet. For reasons yet to be confirmed, the 18-wheeler lost control, crossing the double-yellow line and entering the southeast oncoming lanes. The 18-wheeler continued to spin, exiting the roadway on the southwest side. The trailer of the 18-wheeler became detached from the cab curing the accident. Both the cab and the trailer ended up on their sides in the roadside ditch.

The 50-year-old man sustained reportedly serious injuries as a result of the accident and was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services for treatment. The accident is under investigation by authorities. No additional information is currently available.
