1 Injured in Truck Accident on U.S. 281 in Jim Wells County, TX

Jim Wells County, TX — October 25, 2023, one person was injured in a truck accident just before 5:45 in the evening along U.S. 281.

According to authorities, a 43-year-old man was traveling in a southbound 18-wheeler along U.S. 281 approaching the C.R. 473 intersection when the incident occurred.

For unknown reasons, the vehicle reportedly veered off of the right side of the road where it collided with a culvert and came to a stop facing south on the right-hand side of U.S. 281 just south of C.R. 473. The 43-year-old reportedly sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident and was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services for treatment.

The causal factors in the accident are still under investigation by authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time of the accident were reportedly clear and dry. There are no additional details available at this point in time.
