Teen Injured in Train Accident near Santa Isabel in Laredo, TX

Laredo, TX — November 7, 2023, a teenaged girl was injured in a train accident at about 8:00 p.m. near Baltimore Street.

According to authorities, the accident occurred at a railroad crossing in west Laredo near Santa Isabel Avenue and Baltimore Street.

For unknown reasons, two teenaged girls decided to cross the railroad tracks between cars while the train was still stationary. The first girl reportedly managed to cross safely. The second girl—age 15—was not so lucky. The train allegedly began moving while she was still in the act of crossing, causing her to lose her balance and fall to the ground. One of her arms were reportedly severed as a result of the incident. She was airlifted to a hospital in San Antonio for immediate care and remains in critical condition.

The incident is still under investigation by proper authorities. There is no additional information pertinent to this accident at this point in time.
