1 Killed in Truck Accident along U.S. 127 in Darke County, OH

Darke County, OH — November 9, 2023, one person was killed in a truck accident just after 5:45 in the morning along U.S. 127.

According to reports, one person was traveling in a northbound SUV on Highway 127 near the Hunter Road intersection when the accident occurred.

For unknown reasons, the SUV veered left and into the southbound lane of travel where it collided with an oncoming 18-wheeler. As a result of the collision, the passenger vehicle caught fire, continuing off the side of the road where it came to a stop in a roadside ditch. The 18-wheeler also ran off of the road and into a ditch before coming to a halt. The lone occupant of the SUV was killed as a result of the incident.

The causal factors of the accident are still under investigation by authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time of the accident have not been reported on; no additional information is currently available.
