Veronica Barraza Marquez, 1 Injured in Truck Accident in Midland, TX

Midland, TX — October 22, 2023, Veronica Barraza Marquez and one other person were injured just after 12:30 a.m. along Antelope Trail.

According to reports, the an 18-wheeler and a 2013 Hyundai Elantra were stopped south-facing on Antelope Trail at a stop light at the W.C.R. 120 intersection when the accident occurred.

Veronica Barraza Marquez and a 49-year-old man whose identity has not been confirmed were occupying the 2013 Elantra. For reasons which have not been confirmed, a 2018 Hyundai Elantra collided with the rear-end of the 2013 Elantra. The collision caused the 2013 Elantra to crash into the back of the 18-wheeler.

Marquez sustained severe injuries and the 49-year-old passenger also incurred injuries. Both were transported to local medical facilities by emergency medical services for treatment. The cause of the incident has not been confirmed; it is still under investigation by authorities. No additional information is currently available.
