1 Killed, 1 Injured in Truck Accident on I-80 in Buffalo County, NE

Buffalo County, NE — November 3, 2023, one person was killed and another was injured in a truck accident at about 3:00 along Interstate 80.

According to reports, a Ford F-150 was traveling in the eastbound lanes of I-80 near the Daikin Road Bridge when the incident occurred.

For unknown reasons, the Ford veered left off of the road, crossed the median, and collided with an 18-wheeler which had been traveling in the westbound lanes. Two people incurred injuries as a result of the accident. The driver of the pickup—who had sustained life-threatening injuries—was airlifted to a hospital for immediate treatment. They were declared deceased at the hospital. The second victim was driven to the same hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the accident is unknown; it is under investigation by authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area were not reported on. There are no additional details available at this time.
