1 Killed in Truck Accident on U.S. 83 in Walworth County, SD

Walworth County, SD — November 2, 2023, one person was killed in a truck accident just before 1:30 in the afternoon along U.S. Highway 83.

According to reports, a 56-year-old man was traveling a northbound Ford F-250 about 10 miles south of Selby when the accident occurred.

For unknown reasons, the Ford was involved in a head-on collision with a southbound 18-wheeler. The 56-year-old—whose identity has not been released to the public—reportedly incurred severe injuries as a result of the collision; he succumbed to those injuries and was declared dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported in connection with this incident.
