Child Killed in Pedestrian Van Accident on Hwy. 18 in Apple Valley, CA

Apple Valley, CA — November 6, 2023, a 12-year-old girl was killed in a pedestrian van accident at about 11:00 p.m. along Highway 18.

According to authorities, the 12-year-old and another minor were walking north along Apple Valley Road approaching the intersection with Highway 18 when the accident occurred.

For unknown reasons, a Ford Transit cargo van that had been traveling east along Highway 18 struck the 12-year-old. The victim was critically injured as a result of the accident; emergency medical services transported her to a local hospital for immediate treatment. She was later declared deceased at the hospital.

The accident is still under active investigation by authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time of the accident were not reported on. No other injuries were reported in connection with this incident. No additional details are currently available.
