John Leo Portillo Jr. Injured in Truck Accident in San Antonio, TX

San Antonio, TX — October 26, 2023, John Leo Portillo Jr. was injured in a truck accident just before 1 p.m. along Interstate Highway 410.

According to reports, John Leo Portillo Jr. was traveling in a northbound Chevy pickup truck in the left-hand lane of Interstate Highway 410 just past Highway 10 when the incident occurred. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time of the incident were reportedly rainy and wet.

The pickup was attempting to pass an 18-wheeler when the pickup allegedly hydroplaned after driving through a large puddle of water. The pickup swerved right across the right-hand lane of the highway in front of the 18-wheeler and struck a guardrail before re-entering the right-hand lane. The 18-wheeler attempted to stop, but was unable to avoid a collision with the pickup. When the vehicle came to a stop in the left-hand lane of the highway, the 18-wheeler was facing north and the pickup was facing west.

Emergency workers had to extricate Portillo from the wreckage before transporting him to a local medical facility to treat the life-threatening injuries he incurred as a result of the accident. The incident is still under investigation and no further details are currently available.
