Kanyon Anthony Greer, 1 Injured in Truck Accident in Mesquite, TX

Mesquite, TX — October 24, 2023, Kanyon Anthony Greer and one other person were injured in a truck accident at about 11:30 p.m. along Interstate Highway 635..

According to reports an 18-wheeler was slowing to come to a stop on the right-hand shoulder of southbound I.H. 635 when the incident occurred; hazard lights were reportedly activated and functioning properly.

Allegedly, two vehicles—a Chevy Silverado and a Chevy Colorado—were attempting to merge onto the southbound interstate from the west service road. The Colorado—driven by 20-year-old Kanyon Anthony Greer—slowed in order to wait for an opening after noticing the 18-wheeler on the shoulder. The Silverado, however, struck the Colorado from behind, resulting in the Colorado rear-ending the 18-wheeler. The Silverado then swerved around to the left side, striking the cab of the 18-wheeler.

The 26-year-old man who had been behind the wheel of the Silverado reportedly sustained minor injuries. Greer, however, sustained severe injuries. Both were taken to local medical facilities for treatment.

Charges against the occupants of the Silverado in this incident are pending. The investigation is ongoing and no further details are currently available.
