1 Injured in Truck Accident on U.S. 62 in Terry County, TX

Terry County, TX — October 23, 2023, one person was injured in a truck accident just before 4:30 in the evening along U.S. Highway 62.

According to reports, a 39-year-old man was traveling in a northeast bound 18-wheeler along U.S. 62 approaching the Farm to Market 460 intersection when the incident occurred.

Weather and road conditions in the area at the time of the accident were reportedly rainy and wet. The 18-wheeler was coming out of a curve when the traction light allegedly lit up shortly before the tires lost traction, causing the vehicle to skid off the right side of the road and into a ditch. The cab of the truck rolled and came to a rest on its roof. The trailer, which had come disconnected from the cab sometime during the accident, came to a stop a short distance north of the cab in its left side.

The 39-year-old reportedly incurred severe injuries as a result of the accident. He was transferred to a local medical facility by emergency medical services for treatment. The accident is still under investigation by authorities. No additional details are currently available.
