1 Killed, 3 Injured in Truck Accident on S.R. 23 in DeKalb County, IL

DeKalb County, IL — November 4, 2023, one person was killed and three were injured in a truck accident at around 1 p.m. along S.R. 23.

According to reports, the incident took place at the intersection of State Route 23 and Perry Road.

Authorities indicate that the accident involved a passenger vehicle and a truck. One person, who was a passenger in the car, was declared dead at the scene of the accident, while three other people involved sustained injuries, one of which was a child. The child was airlifted to a hospital in Chicago for immediate treatment. The driver of the passenger vehicle was also airlifted to a local hospital. The final person to sustain injuries was the truck driver; their injuries were reportedly minor.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation by authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time of the accident have not been reported on. Neither have the identities of those involved been made public. There are no additional details available at this point in time.
