1 Killed, 9 Injured in Bus Accident on 5th Avenue in Seattle, WA

Seattle, WA — October 5, 2023, one person was killed and nine people were injured in a bus accident at around 3:45 p.m. along 5th St.

Authorities report that a bus collided with a building at the intersection of 5th Avenue and Battery Street.

One woman—whose identity has not yet been released to the public—was confirmed dead at the scene of the accident; she had reportedly been standing outside of the building the bus crashed into and had been struck as the bus came to a stop. At least one other vehicle was affected by the crash. A 31-year-old man had to be extricated from his vehicle by emergency medical services. He had reportedly incurred severe injuries and had to be transported to a local medical center for immediate treatment.

Of the eleven people on the bus, eight were also taken to a medical facility for evaluation. The cause of the incident is still under active investigation by the authorities. There are no additional details available at this time.
