1 Killed in Truck Accident on U.S. 59 in Cass County, TX

Cass County, TX — October 18, 2023, one person was killed in a truck accident just before 12:30 in the morning along U.S. 59.

According to reports, a 29-year-old man was travelling in the right-hand lane in a northbound Chevy Colorado on U.S. 59 approaching the Country Road 3560 intersection when the accident occurred.

For reasons which are unknown, the Chevy rear-ended a flatbed trailer hauling steel pipe which had been in tow behind a semi in the lane ahead. According to authorities, the 29-year-old man—whose identity has not yet been confirmed—was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the incident is unknown. No other injuries were reported in connection with this accident. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time were reportedly clear and dry. The incident is still under investigation by authorities; no additional details are currently available.
