Bonnie Jo Cassaday Injured in Truck Accident in Brown County, TX

UPDATE (November 7, 2023): The identity of the 50-year-old woman who sustained severe injuries as a result of this accident has been confirmed as Bonnie Jo Cassaday, of Talpa, Texas.

Brown County, TX — October 6, 2023, one person was injured in a truck accident just before 3 o'clock in the afternoon along U.S. 84.

According to reports, the accident occurred at the intersection of U.S. 84 and F.M. 2126. An 18-wheeler was traveling on U.S. 84 in the left-most northbound lane and attempted to make a left turn onto F.M. 2126.

For unknown reasons, the 18-wheeler did not yield to an oncoming Nissan Frontier which had been traveling in the right-most southbound lane of U.S. 84. This resulted in the a collision between the front ends of each vehicle. The 18-wheeler then veered left, colliding with a Dodge Caravan and a Dodge Ram which had been stopped one behind the other at the stop sign facing east on F.M. 2126.

The 50-year-old woman in the Nissan Frontier incurred reportedly severe injuries as a result of the accident. She was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services for treatment. No other injuries were reported in connection with this accident. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time were reportedly clear and dry. Charges in connection with this incident are pending; no other details are currently available.
