Cesar Zamudio Altamirano, 1 Injured in Truck Accident in El Paso, TX

UPDATE (November 10, 2023): The identity of the 39-year-old man has been confirmed as Cesar Zamudio Altamirano.

El Paso, TX — October 19, 2023, two men were injured in a truck accident at around 3:45 in the afternoon along State Loop 375 and Interstate 10.

According to reports, a 39-year-old man was traveling in a westbound 18-wheeler along State Loop 375 when the vehicle experienced brake failure.

The 39-year-old abandoned the vehicle, jumping from the cab while it was still in motion before the truck crashed through the North Desert guardrail and collided with a concrete barrier. The 18-wheeler then collided with a northbound 18-wheeler on I-10.

The 39-year-old man reportedly sustained life threatening injuries as a result of the incident. He was transported by emergency medical services to a local medical facility for immediate care. 59-year-old man who had been driving the second 18-wheeler had reportedly sustained minor injuries, as well. He was also taken to a local medical facility for treatment.

The accident is still under active investigation. There are no additional details available at this time.
