Javier Guerrero Barcenas Killed in Multi-Car Accident on Eastex Freeway in Houston, TX

UPDATE (November 7, 2023): Authorities released additional details about the crash, including the identity of the victim. Harris County officials say the victim was 63-year-old Javier Guerrero Barcenas, who was in a Chevy Silverado which was southbound on Eastex Freeway. Somehow, the Chevy crashed into a wall, then was hit from behind by a Dodge Ram. After this, two other vehicles crashed, as well. Barcenas died due to the collision. At least one person reportedly had minor injuries, authorities said. Right now, the cause of the crash remains unconfirmed.

Houston, TX — November 5, 2023, one person was killed due to a multi-car accident at around 3:06 a.m. along Interstate 69/U.S. Highway 59.

According to officials, the incident took place along the freeway near the exit for Tidwell Road, Fox 26 Houston reports.

It appears the crash involving multiple cars, though the exact numbers was not specified. It's also unclear which direction the vehicles were going and what factors may have contributed to the crash. As a result of the collision, though, it seems one person lost their life. There is no mention of any other injuries associated with the crash. Investigations are still ongoing.
