1 Injured in Truck Accident on S.H. 204 in Cherokee County, TX

Cherokee County, TX — October 18, 2023, one man was injured in a truck accident just after 3:30 in the afternoon along State Highway 204.

According to reports, a 23-year-old man was traveling in a westbound Nissan Sentra on State Highway 204 just west of Country Road 1405 when the accident occurred.

For unknown reasons, the Nissan collided with a John Deer baler which had been in tow behind an 18-wheeler. The collision caused the Nissan to roll off the right side of the road, before coming to a stop facing east in the roadside ditch. The 23-year-old man was ejected from the Nissan during the incident; he reportedly sustained severe injuries as a result. He was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services for treatment.

The cause of the accident has not been confirmed. Weather and road conditions in the area at the time of the accident were reportedly clear and dry. The incident is still under investigation by authorities; no additional details are available at this time.
