2 Children Injured in Truck Accident on I-10 in Colorado County, TX

Colorado County, TX — October 21, 2023, two children were injured in a truck accident just after 12:15 in the morning along Interstate 10.

According to reports, a 40-year-old woman and two children—one age four and the other age six—were traveling in a westbound Honda in the right-hand lane of I-10 approaching the C.R. 253 overpass when the accident occurred.

For unknown reasons, an 18-wheeler traveling in the same lane rear-ended the Honda, causing it to veer left across the other lane of westbound I-10 and come to a stop facing the barrier. The 18-wheeler pulled over in the right-hand shoulder, where it came to a stop.

Authorities state that the 4-year-old boy in the Honda sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident; the 6-year-old boy was also possibly injured. Both were transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services for treatment. The accident is still under investigation by authorities. There are no further details currently available.
