2 Injured in Truck Accident on De Zavala Road in San Antonio, TX

San Antonio, TX — October 16, 2023, two people were injured in a truck accident at 9 o'clock in the morning along De Zavala Road.

According to reports, a 52-year-old woman in a Toyota Avalon and a 40-year-old woman in a Ford Explorer were stopped one behind the other on De Zavala Road at the Brandeis intersection awaiting a traffic light to change when the accident occurred.

For unknown reasons, an 18-wheeler ran into the rear of the Ford Explorer. The rear-end collision from the semi caused the Ford to rear-end the Toyota Avalon. The 40-year-old woman in the Ford Explorer sustained reportedly serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital by emergency medical services for treatment. The 52-year-old woman in the Toyota was also injured, though her injuries were not reported as severe.

The accident is still under investigation. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time were reported as clear and dry. There are no additional details available at this point.
