2 Injured in Truck Accident on Route 22 in Westmoreland County, PA

Westmoreland County, PA — November 2, 2023, two people were injured in a truck accident around 1:50 in the afternoon along William Penn Highway.

According to reports, two men were travelling along Stone Jug Road and attempting to cross William Penn Highway onto Rushwood Road when the accident occurred.

Authorities state that, for unknown reasons, the pickup had a collision with an 18-wheeler which had been westbound on Route 22—William Penn Highway. The collision caused the man who had been the passenger in the pickup truck to be ejected from the vehicle. Both men were transported to a local hospital by emergency medical services for treatment of injuries incurred during the accident. No other injuries were reported in connection with this accident.

The weather and road conditions at the time of the accident were not reported on, but photographs of the scene after the accident show clear, blue skies and dry roads. The accident is still under investigation by authorities; no additional details are currently available.
