3 Injured in Truck Accident on S.H. 78 in Louisa County, IA

Louisa County, IA — October 25, 2023, three people were injured in a truck accident just before 9 'clock in the morning along State Highway 78.

According to reports, emergency services were called to the scene of a multi-vehicle accident on Iowa Highway 78 at the U.S. Highway 61 intersection.

The cause of the accident is unknown. Emergency medical services arrived on the scene to find that six vehicles were involved in the incident: a minivan, two passenger vehicles, a pickup truck and enclosed trailer, and two SUVs. One of the victims reportedly had to be extricated from their vehicle. The three victims had to be transported to a local medical center by emergency medical services for treatment of injuries incurred during the accident.

The incident is still under investigation by authorities. Weather and road conditions in the area at the time of the accident were not reported on. There are no additional details available at this point in time.
