3 Injured in Truck Accident on Interstate 20 in Reeves County, TX

Reeves County, TX — October 8, 2023, three people were injured in a truck accident at about 6:30 in the morning along Interstate 20.

Reports indicate that a Kia was traveling in the westbound lanes of Interstate 20 just west of Shaw Road when the incident occurred.

For unknown reasons the Kia collided with the rear end of an 18-wheeler. The 18-wheeler stopped on the right-hand shoulder of the interstate, but the Kia came to a halt in the median between the westbound and eastbound lanes of the interstate.

As a result of the accident, the 31-year-old man who had been driving the Kia sustained serious injuries. The two passengers of the Kia—a 23-year-old woman and a 1-year-old girl—were also injured. All three were transferred to a local medical facility by emergency medical services for treatment.

No other injuries were reported in connection with this accident. Weather and road conditions in the area at the time of the accident were reportedly clear and dry. The incident is still under investigation. There are no additional details available at this time.
