1 Injured in Truck Accident on I-55 near Staunton, IL

Staunton, IL — November 1, 2023, one person was injured in a truck accident just before 11 o'clock in the morning on Interstate 55.

According to reports, two 18-wheelers were traveling northbound on Interstate 55 approaching Staunton Road when the incident occured.

For unknown reasons, one 18-wheeler collided with the back of the second. One of the drivers—whose identity has not yet been made public—was reportedly injured as a result of the crash. They were airlifted to a medical facility for immediate treatment. His current condition has no been made known to the public. No other injuries have been reported in connection with this incident.

The weather and road conditions in the area at the time have not been reported. The cause of the accident is still under investigation by authorities. No additional details are available at this point in time.
