Jose Jesus Casas Jr. Killed in Truck Accident in Kaufman County, TX

UPDATE (November 7, 2023): The victim in this accident has been confirmed as Jose Jesus Casas Jr., a 71-year-old man from Edinburg, Texas.

Kaufman County, TX — October 22, 2023, a 71-year-old man was killed in a truck accident at about 10 o'clock in the evening along I.H. 20.

According to reports, the victim was riding in an eastbound 18-wheeler just west of C.R. 2965 when the accident occurred.

Allegedly, the front left tire of the 18-wheeler blew out, causing the vehicle to veer left across all the lanes of eastbound traffic, travel over the median, and continue across all the westbound lanes of I.H. 20 before striking the trees in the woods on the north side of the highway and coming to a stop in the ditch.

The 71-year-old man—whose name has not yet been made public—was killed as a result of injuries incurred during the incident. The accident is still under investigation. No other injures have been reported in connection with this accident. Further details are currently unavailable.
