Child Killed, 6 Injured in Car Accident on S.H. 288 in Houston, TX

Houston, TX — October 29, 2023, a 3-year-old was killed, 5 children were injured, and one adult was injured in a car accident at 11:50 p.m. along S.H. 288.

According to reports, a family of 8 was in an SUV traveling along S.H. 288 near Wheeler Avenue when the accident occurred.

The 29-year-old woman was behind the wheel and 39-year-old husband was in the front passenger seat. Allegedly, the two adults were having a heated argument, and for unknown reasons, the 39-year-old man grabbed the steering wheel, causing the SUV to collide with a retaining wall and roll before coming to a stop on its side.

The six children and the 29-year-old woman were taken to a local hospital, where the 3-year-old girl was pronounced deceased. Two of the children were reportedly in critical condition; the other three children and the woman were in stable condition. The man was uninjured.

The accident is still under an active investigation by authorities. There are no further details available at this point in time.
