Sugar Land Man Injured in Car Accident on Oyster Creek Drive in Lake Jackson, TX

Brazoria County, TX — October 8, 2023, a Sugar Land man was injured due to a single-vehicle accident at around 5:10 a.m. on Oyster Creek Drive.

Initial details about the crash released by authorities indicate that the crash happened off the corner of the Oyster Creek Drive and Dixie Drive intersection.

According to officials, a 54-year-old Sugar Land man was in a Jeep Cherokee going northbound along Dixie. At the Oyster Creek intersection, the man reportedly told authorities the brake pedal did not slow the vehicle down, and the Jeep ran off the opposite side of the T-intersection. The vehicle went off-road where it crashed into a drainage ditch.

As a result of the collision, the Sugar Land man sustained incapacitating injuries. There are no other reported contributing factors. Details about the possibly defective brakes can't be confirmed right now.
