Worker Killed in Accident at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Austin, TX

The victim has not been identified other than being an airport worker. For reasons which are unclear, the victim was on foot when an unspecified vehicle struck them. This resulted in fatal injuries. Details about who was operating the vehicle are unclear.

This appears to be the second fatal work accident this year at Austin-Bergstrom, after an American Airlines worker died in a collision between a vehicle and a bridge back in April. This could just be a horribly unlucky year for Austin-Bergstrom, but it's hard to ignore two fatal work accidents happening at the same airport just months apart. Is there something going on at Austin-Bergstrom putting workers at an unusually high risk of getting hurt? Are authorities ensuring they look into the possibility the two accidents share a common factor?
