Erasmo Bautista Killed in Car Accident in Sugar Land, TX

UPDATE (November 14, 2023): The identity of the victim in this incident has been confirmed; 24-year-old Erasmo Bautista was the sole occupant of the Ford Mustang.

Sugar Land, TX — October 29, 2023, one person was killed in a car accident during a car chase at around 3:30 a.m. along West Airport Boulevard.

According to reports, a police officer initiated a traffic stop of a Ford Mustang at West Airport Boulevard and Eldridge Road when the driver began speeding away from the scene; the officer gave chase.

Authorities say the driver headed east down Airport Boulevard and made it to the Industrial Boulevard intersection before the vehicle crashed into a tree. The victim in the crash—whose identity has not been made public—was reportedly ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The weather and road conditions in the area were not reported on. The cause of the accident has not been confirmed. No additional details are available at this time.
