One Killed, Six Injured in Police Chase on Interstate 10 East in El Paso, TX

El Paso, TX — October 30, 2023, one was killed, and six were injured in a crash involving a police chase on Interstate 10 East near Chelsea Street in El Paso, TX.

Authorities indicate that on October 30, a fatal accident occurred when a vehicle crashed in El Paso. According to reports, the crash happened at approximately 1:00 in the morning. Investigators say a Mazda was allegedly speeding while traveling north along Sunland Park Drive. A DPS trooper tried to pull the Mazda over, which led to the officer pursuing the vehicle. During the chase, the Mazda reportedly lost control while taking the Chelsea Street exit, hitting a concrete barrier.

Officials confirmed that a vehicle occupant died at the scene, and six others were taken to area hospitals with injuries. Five people reportedly suffered severe injuries in the crash. Identities have not been released at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
