1 Injured in Single-car Accident near Telephone, TX

Fannin County, TX — October 8, 2023, one person was injured in a single-car accident at about 2 o'clock in the morning along F.M. 409.

According to reports, a 32-year-old man was riding west in a pickup truck along Farm to Market 409 toward the Farm to Market 2029 intersection when the incident occurred.

For unknown reasons, the pickup failed to stop at a stop sign at the three-way intersection and continued straight off of the roadway, colliding with a tree and a barbed-wire fence as it entered a wooded area before coming to a stop.

The 32-year-old sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to a local medical facility for treatment. The cause of the accident has not been confirmed, though it is still under investigation; no additional details are available at this time.
