Bicyclist Killed in Possible DWI Accident on Scottcrest Drive in Houston, TX

Houston, TX — October 14, 2023, a bicyclist was killed due to an alleged drunk driving accident at around 6:16 p.m. along Scottcrest Drive.

Authorities said in their initial statements on the accident that the collision occurred at the intersection of Scottcrest Drive and Old Spanish Trail Street.

According to officials, a 62-year-old man was riding a bicycle along eastbound lanes of Old Spanish Trail. While crossing over Scottcrest, authorities say a northbound pickup struck the cyclist. This resulted in the cyclist sustaining fatal injuries.

Details show there was a recommendation for the pickup driver to face a DWI charge after tests allegedly showed they were over the legal limit. Right now, other potential charges are unclear.
