Lincoln, NE — October 28, 2023, one person was killed and two others were injured in a truck accident at 12:26 p.m. along Highway 33.
According to repots, there were four vehicles involved in the accident. A Peterbilt truck and trailer hauling grain in the northbound lanes of U.S. 30 was being passed by an Infinity near Southwest 14th Street when, for unknown reasons, the infinity made contact with the rear of the semi-trailer. As a result of the contact, the Infinity crossed over into oncoming southbound traffic, colliding with a Toyota Tundra. Debris from the collision between the Toyota and the Infinity struck the fourth vehicle, a Ford Expedition, which had been traveling southbound behind the Toyota Tundra.

The person who had been driving the Toyota Tundra was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. Two other people—the driver of the Infinity and a passenger from the Toyota—were transferred to a local medical facility for treatment of injuries incurred as a result of the accident. No other injuries were reported in connection with this accident, which is still under investigation. Allegedly, speed and alcohol are both suspected to be causal factors in the incident. The conditions of those injured have not been made public. No additional details are available at this time.
