1 Killed, Several Injured in Semi-truck Accident Bloomington, IL

McLean County, IL — October 28, 2023, a 16-year-old was killed and two other minors were injured in a semi-truck accident at about 3:45 p.m. along 1200 North.

According to reports, the 16-year-old driver from Arrowsmith and two juvenile passengers were riding in a passenger car at the intersection of 2800 E and 1200 North when the accident occurred.

The cause of the accident is still unknown. Emergency services were called to the scene of the accident involving the passenger vehicle and a semi-truck. The 16-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene due to blunt head injuries. The other victims involved in the crash were transported to a nearby hospital for immediate treatment.

The accident is still under active investigation. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time of the crash were not reported on. Current conditions of the surviving victims have not been made public. No additional details are available at this time.
